The children sat, glued to the television, watching The Legend of the Green Sword.  They didn’t notice that their Dad had gone upstairs to the spare bedroom with Folami, their seventeen year old baby-sitter.  They didn’t even notice that their mother had returned a day early from her trip.  She was tired from the long flight from Osaka to Johannesburg and was looking forward to soaking in a nice, hot bath.

She paused to look at them before heading up the stairs.  The children were oblivious to what was happening around them.  They were caught up in the Kingdom of Argon and watched eagerly as Godan, the good wizard drew the sword with the green blade from its sheath to slay the dragon.  It was the only sword to accomplish the feat.  The children’s eyes were bright with excitement as they waited to see Godan destroy the beast and save the kingdom.  They had no inkling that their lives were about to change.
